Dear Headteacher,
Following Government advice yesterday and thorough risk assessments regarding the nature of the work we do, we have decided to stop all Music Service activities (lessons and music ensembles) from today, Tuesday 17th March 2020 for the foreseeable future. We will continue to follow guidance and advice from Governments and Public Health Wales, whilst monitoring the situation both locally and nationally before recommencing any activities.
In the interim period, the members of the Music Service will be working to provide digital content and experiences for our community ensuring that Covid – 19 does not impact further on Wellbeing.
I kindly ask you to help us by notifying pupils and parents that, there will be no instrumental/vocal lessons or school and county ensembles until further notice.
Please remember, our charge to schools is based on a minimum of 30 sessions in an academic year. Currently, the average number of sessions completed by the team is 22 and there are a potential 12 weeks following the Easter holidays.
Our office remains open for any school or parent questions.
Many thanks for your understanding in these challenging times.
Yours faithfully,
Aled Marshman
Director of Music, Theatr Clwyd
